Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have the following software installed:

• Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Administration Tools
• Microsoft SQL Client Tools
  • If you decide to install SQL 2008 Client Tools, SQL 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2) Backward Compatibility must also be installed.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update package.

Install this update on any of the following servers that are running Communications Server 2007 R2:

• Standard Edition Server
• Director (Standard Edition)

To install this update, run the OCS2009-DBUpgrade.msi file directly.

Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Enterprise Edition

You can install database update from the EE Back-end or the EE Front end. However, we recommended that you run the database update from the Back-end.

Before you install the update make sure that the prerequisites that are required for the update are installed. Updates for the Enterprise Edition database can be applied by running the following command: Where Poolname is the Enterprise Edition Pool name.

Removal information

This update cannot be removed unless you remove Communications Server 2007 R2. Then, you must use the original Communications Server 2007 R2 installation media to reinstall Communications Server 2007 R2. The following instructions only help you remove the update from the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel.
