Article ID: 969838 - Last Review: July 17, 2009 - Revision: 1.1 An error message is returned when a user tries to change a recurring appointment in Office Outlook Web Access that was created in Outlook 2007 in Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1
SYMPTOMSIn
a
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) environment, you
create a daily recurring
appointment in the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 SP2 client. You
specify a reminder
time for
this recurring appointment.
However, when you
try to change this
appointment
by
using Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access, you
receive the following error message: You cannot perform this operation unless you shorten the reminder
time. Reminders in a recurring series cannot appear before the start of the
previous occurrence CAUSEThis
issue occurs when the reminder time for the recurring appointment occurs before
the end of the previous occurence. In the Outlook 2007
SP2 client, you
can create such
an appointment item.
However, Exchange
Server 2007 SP1 considers
this behavior invalid.
Therefore,
if you try to change the appointment by using Office Outlook Web Access, the Exchange
Server 2007 SP1 server validation rules block
the operation. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 9 for
Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1. For more information about Update Rollup 9 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, see the following Exchange Help topic: Description of Update Rollup 9 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1
