FIX: You receive an incorrect result when you query data from a linked server that is created by using an index OLE DB provider in SQL Server 2005 or in SQL Server 2008

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you create a linked server by using an OLE DB provider. The OLE DB provider supports integrated indexes by using the IRowsetIndex interface. When you query data from the linked server, you receive an incorrect result.

For example, you run a query that uses a subquery to restrict the range of the result. The subquery queries data from the same table. When you run the query, SQL Server does not restrict the range correctly in the result.

Cumulative update information

SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3

Important You must install this cumulative update package if your computer is running SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3.

The fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3.
