Issues that were not previously documented in a Knowledge Base article
Update Rollup 5 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 resolves the
following issues that were not previously documented in a Knowledge Base
article:
- The first field in a tab is a lookup field or a date time
field. Moreover,
it is blank. When you click the tab, you receive the following error
message:
<ScriptErrorDetails>
<Message>Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible,
not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.</Message>
<Line>278</Line>
<URL>/sfa/accts/edit.aspx</URL>
<PageURL>/sfa/accts/edit.aspx#</PageURL>
<Function>SetContentEditable()</Function>
<CallStack>
<Function>SetContentEditable()</Function>
<Function>setFocus()</Function>
</CallStack>
</ScriptErrorDetails>
- When you open user options in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 in the Windows 2008 Server operating system, you receive the following error message that is related to Internet Information Services
(IIS):
An entry with the same key already exists.
- You remove the Organizer field from a
form.
Then, when
you save an appointment, you receive the following error message:
msxml3.dll: The parameter Node is not a child of this
Node.
- The text in the Details tab for
the contact information of a customer has TAB characters.
When you run the Mail Merge function on the customer, the tabs are removed
unexpectedly.
- When you list e-mail messages in a queue, the
Entered On field displays only the dates of the e-mail
messages. However, you expect that the field displays the dates and the
times.
- You are a user who a record has been shared with for an entity
type that has a related address table. When you go offline, you cannot view the
address information.
- You select an item for the Regarding field in
an e-mail activity and send the e-mail activity to yourself. When you receive
the e-mail in Outlook, the e-mail category shows None instead
of the correct regarding object.
- A deployment and an organization database have the same
hotfixes applied. When you import the organization database into the
deployment, you receive the following warning message:
The Organization Database Selected For Import is a Different
Version Than the Current Deployment.
However, the warning message does
not prevent you from importing the database.
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM may not invoke the OnChange event when the event is associated with a date time field in
certain scenarios. For example, when you manually enter the value of a time in a text box that is associated with
the date time
field, you do not invoke the OnChange event.
- When a workflow instance is in a Waiting
state, and the user who executes the workflow is disabled or no longer has
access to continue the workflow, the workflow instance retries for
a long time. The states of the workflow instance change between the following states:
- Waiting
- In Progress
- Waiting for Resources
- When you run the Advanced Find function by using a role that does
not have permission to access read
accounts, the function unexpectedly
returns
no results. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Dynamics CRM has encountered an
error.
Note When you view the data that is sent to Microsoft, you receive a
message that resembles the following:AllLookups&objecttypes=1,2 in the
_controls/lookup/lookupmulti.aspx page.
- When you convert a campaign response to an opportunity,
Microsoft Dynamics CRM creates the opportunity by using the default currency
instead of the currency that is used by the campaign response.
- You create multiple service activities. You
do not specify the
resources for these
activities. When you view the service calendar by using the Service
Activity type or the Service Activity and Appointment
type, the subjects are displayed as [object Object] instead of
the subjects that should be shown for the service activities.
Note After you install the hotfix, you must clear your temporary
Internet files on the client where you access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web
client or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook. - Consider the following scenario. You apply the Update
Rollup 2, Update Rollup 3, Update Rollup 4,
or the hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base (KB) article 959394. Then, you
double-click a hyperlink that is related to a record in an entity. In this situation, the entity
record is shown instead of the record that you double-clicked.
For more
information about the hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base (KB) article
959394, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base: 959394
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959394/
)
An incorrect record is opened when you double-click a record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0
Note After you install the hotfix, you must clear your temporary
Internet files on the client where you access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web
client or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook. - You set the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook to offline mode, and then you make some modifications on a custom entity by using a
strong-typed class in your custom application.
Then, when
you go online, you may receive the following error message:
The specified type was not recognized.
Note To work around this problem, you must change the ISV application
to use the generic class DynamicEntity instead of the strong-typed custom
class. - Consider the following scenario. You use a custom data map
to import some
data that contains the Lookup
attribute. Some rows in the data have non-null Lookup
attributes, and other rows in the data have null Lookup
attributes. In this scenario, when you import the data, the rows with non-null
Lookup attributes cannot be imported as expected. This problem
occurs if the number of rows exceeds the value of
ImportBatchSize.
Note The default value of ImportBatchSize is 1000. However,
you
can change this
value in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM
database. - When you call the FireOnChange() method for a lookup field in the OnLoad event of a form, the OnChange event of the
lookup field is triggered at
unexpected times.
- A user belongs to a mixed security role.
For example, one of the mixed security roles is a security role that is an
inherited security role from a
parent Business Unit,
and the other is a
custom security role
from its own Business Unit (BU). When you run filtered views by using the user,
you may receive less data than expected.
Note This issue applies to all consumers of the filtered views: Report
wizard, system reports, custom reports, exported Excel spreadsheets,
and so on. - When
you update IsDisabledWhenIntegrated to a value of 1 for a privilege, you cannot assign certain roles to a user. For example, a role contains the privilege with the value of IsDisabledWhenIntegrated that is equal to 1.
- You use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) accelerator, such as
F5
Network's BigIp,
to route incoming HTTPS requests
to Microsoft Dynamics CRM by using HTTP. When you run a report that has a drill-down
link, the drill-down link incorrectly uses the HTTP
schema.
- When you change the state code of a sales order to
Submitted, you
notice that you can unexpectedly edit the sales order
and its associated child records.
- Consider the following scenario. You set up an N:N relationship between a custom entity and a user entity. Then, you
set the
display area to "details" for
both entities. Next, you publish the custom entity. In this scenario, when you
click the Add Existing User, all user entities from
SystemUserBase.tbl are
listed incorrectly
on the lookupmulti.aspx page.
- Consider the following scenario. You create a user in an
organization in
Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Then, you execute the p_DisableCreateUser procedure to disable the create user feature. In this scenario,
when you disable the user who you created in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM
organization, you can unexpectedly enable
the Create User feature.
- Localized views contain an invalid layoutXML element after
you upgrade the Arabic version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to the Arabic
version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. Therefore,
when you use certain views, you receive errors.
- When you create a new activity after you install Update
Rollup
3 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the corresponding task is put in the
Assigned queue instead of the
In Progress queue.
- When you distribute a campaign activity, the value in the
Last Date Included in Campaign field on the
Administration tab in the Account dialog box
is not updated
as expected.
- This hotfix updates the start of daylight saving time (DST)
for the (GMT +5:00) Islamabad, Karachi time zone in 2009 as
follows:
- DST starts at 23:59:59 on April 14, 2009
- DST ends at 23:59:59 on October 31, 2009
- When you try to access certain views, you experience slow
performance or time-out issues.
For example, you experience slow performance when you try to access the
Active Contacts view. Additionally, you may experience a
blocking issue in an instance of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Consider the following scenario. The Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Async service processes a query. The query moves the Async operations from a
suspended state to a ready state. In this scenario, Microsoft Dynamics CRM may crash,
and you receive the following error on the Microsoft
Dynamics CRM server:.
Platform traces on Microsoft
CRM Server:
Host DYNAMICS: error while processing organization
f3e67540-eb3d-4fb4-a022-881f74dcd045. Exception:

AsyncOperationType: 1 - System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed
out
Additionally, you may experience slow performance when you
open forms or save records.
- Consider the following scenario. You apply Update
Rollup 3 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
You are an administrator in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. You
import an organization to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, and you do not map any
user accounts except yourself. In this scenario, you
cannot update any user domain names for the user accounts in organizations.
Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the
following:
System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --->
System.ArgumentException: Value was invalid.
- When you publish all customizations after you apply Update
Rollup 3 or Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM,
you receive the following error message:
Exception when
executing non-query: exec p_PublishMetadata 1 Exception:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed
prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
- When you click Assign on the
Actions menu in the E-mail dialog box to
assign an e-mail from one public queue to another public queue, the e-mail is
assigned successfully to the destination queue. However, the e-mail is not
detached as
expected
from the source queue.
- You ignore an error for a record when you go online. You
can see the record when you are online. However, when you go offline, the
record is no longer available.
- You receive the following error message when you try to
upload the Hebrew CRM reports to SQL Reporting Services (SRS) 2008:
