Issues that were not previously documented in a Knowledge Base article

• You are cannot access shared mail merge templates when you run a mail merge.
• When you create a workflow process to automatically create product records, the lookup function for default units returns no records. Therefore, the "Create Product" step of the workflow cannot be created. This problem occurs even though you have set up the unit group.
• Consider the following scenario: You log on to Microsoft Dynamics CRM by using a user account that has the "User level" permission to the Activity entity in the security role. When you try to assign an activity to another user, you receive an "Access is Denied" error message. This problem occurs if the Share reassigned records with original owner system setting is set to No.
• The "All Users are not mapped" error message is translated as "Alle Benutzer sind nicht zugeordnet" in German. However, it should be translated as "Es sind nicht alle Benutzer zugeordnet."
• The Service Activities column title is not localized on the Service Activity Volume report. Additionally, the Not Specified - Product label is not localized on the Sales Pipeline report.
• When you try to create a quick campaign that has an Appointment activity in the Create Quick Campaign Wizard, you see that the creation is aborted. Additionally, you recieve the following error message:
  This action was aborted because CRM Server or CRM Workflow service was restarted, or the process timed out. Please contact your CRM administrator for if the Organizer field has been removed from the Appointment form.
• Activity entities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM are constructed of a common entity type that is called Activity. The Activity entity type holds all the common attributes for all activity types. Each activity type has its own entity that extends an activity with attributes that are specific to the type. Consider the following scenario: You create a plug-in that is registered on the child pipeline for a specific activity type, such as the Service Appointment activity type. Then, you try to update one of the attributes of the specific activity type from the base activity entity, such as the Subject activity entity. In this scenario, the change does not occur as expected to the record and you do not receive an error message.
• Consider the following scenario: You change the port on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site. Then, you add a hostheader or certificate to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site. In this scenario, when you try to configure the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client, you receive the following error message:
  The configuration wizard cannot connect to the Microsoft CRM server. This might indicate that the server is down.
• If you customize the Appointment form by removing the Organizer field from the main form, you cannot save an appointment from the Account context after you install Update Rollup 1.
• Consider the following scenario: You lock the price for a sales order. Then, you try to add more products from existing products list by clicking Save and New. In this scenario, the pricing option is still enabled on the Product Order form, so you can select the Use Default option or the Override Price option. Additionally, if you select the Override Price option, you will receive the following error message when you try to save the Product Order form:
  The price cannot be overridden while the entity is locked.
• Consider the following scenario. A result set is returned after you run an advanced find. Then, you change the operator in the search condition of the Advanced Find window and run another advanced find. In this scenario, the second advanced find does not run.
• Consider the following scenario: You paste multiple images into the body of an e-mail message. Then, you send the e-mail message to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM user. In this scenario, the last image pasted in the e-mail message is not displayed when the e-mail message is opened in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
• Consider the following scenario: You create a plug-in step to write attributes of an activity from a defined pre-image to a file. Then, you register a step for the plug-in to execute a pre-update on any activity entity in the child pipeline. If the attributes that are retrieved are found on the ActivityPointer entity, the values that are contained in the pre-image will be the new values. However, you expect that the values before the pre-update are contained in the file.
• When you try to run a plug-in step, you receive the following error message:
  The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid.
  This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The plug-in step is registered to execute under another user's context.
  • You log on Microsoft Dynamics CRM by using Internet-Facing Deployment (IFD).
  • You are not a member of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM PrivUserGroup in Active Directory.
• When you add lookup up fields to a search view, the Quick Search function in the List Web part for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 does not work. Additionally, you receive the following error message when you execute the search:
  System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --->
  System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --->
  Microsoft.Crm.CrmArgumentException: An exception System.FormatException was thrown while trying to convert input value 'One%' to attribute 'contact.ownerid'. Expected type of attribute value: System.Guid.
  Exception raised: Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
• You cannot run the activities report if the regardingobjectidname value is larger than 100 characters.
• When you try to reply to a sent e-mail message that has a CRM user in the BCC line, you receive the following error message:
  A record with these values already exist. A duplicate record cannot be created.
• The alpha jump bar is not available in the Local Data dialog box of the U.S. English build of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Outlook Offline client, nor available in the Japanese build. Additionally, the paging buttons are not displayed at the bottom of the dialog box in the Japanese build. Therefore, you cannot change pages.
• If you change the default relationship between the Contact entity and the Order entity, or between the Account entity and the Order entity, you cannot change the relationship back to the default.
• When you perform a check in the Environmental Diagnostic Wizard (EDW) after you upgrade Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following warning:
  Warning: The word breaker for language 2074 is not installed.
  This problem only occurs if you use Self-Healing Setup fixes during the upgrade.
• A green spinning circle is displayed in the Notes tab of an entity if the following conditions are true: 
  • The entity has notes.
  • On the Notes tab of the entity form, there is an IFrame that displays another entity which also has notes.
• The OnChange event of a Bit type field is not executed if you click a picklist field first.
• Duplicate records are identified incorrectly if a duplicate detection rule is created for a DateTime type field.
• When you install Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, it requires the Microsoft Dynamics CRM installation media.
• After you change the columns of a view by using a long relationship name, you receive the following error message:
  An error has occurred.
• You cannot save or update records, such as incidents, if your roles are changed.
• A fix is available that makes Microsoft Dynamics CRM compatible with the August 2009 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
