The Sound Volume Mixer (SndVol.exe) window may not open when clicking the Mixer HotLink button on a Windows Vista-based computer that has touch screen capabilities.
This issue can occur if you are using a mouse at the same time you are using a pen or touchpad when attempting to access the Volume Mixer Window. Mouse movement is much more sensitive than pen or pad movements and using the mouse, pen or touchpad simultaneously can cause the mouse click to be misinterpreted.
Example: When pressing down the mouse button and then releasing the mouse button while using a Pen or Touch Pad and causing any cursor movement or any movement of the mouse or even the shaking of your hand may cause the system to sense a mouse movement.
This issue will not occur if using only one the mouse, the touch pad or the pen at a time.
You can also work around this issue by opening the Volume Mixer Window using one of the following methods:
Right-click on the Volume icon in system tray and click Open Volume Mixer
Press and hold the ALT+X simultaneously and then click on the Volume icon in system tray
Click Start and type sndvol.exe in the Start Search text area and then double-click sndvol.exe in the Programs list.
