When you use Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for RosettaNet (BTARN) 3.0 in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) messages that have invalid DateTimeStamp values are not rejected.
For example, you have a message that contains the following invalid DateTimeStamp value:
You expect this message to be rejected. However, this value is validated, and the message is received by BTARN.
This problem occurs because the BTARN schema for exception processing incorrectly defines several elements as the String data type. However, the RosettaNet standard states that such elements should be the DateTime data type.

RosettaNet standard defines DateTime format as the following format:
CCYYMMDDThhmmss.sssZThis format must also have a minimum length of 13 characters. After you apply this fix, a pattern is added to the BTARN schema for exception processing so that the string is passed in the DateTime format.
