On This PageSYMPTOMSYou use the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook on a computer that is running Windows Vista together with Windows Internet Explorer 7 or together with Windows Internet Explorer 8. When you access entities in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook, you receive the following error message: A Microsoft Dynamics CRM window was unable to open, and may have been blocked by a popup blocker. Please add this Microsoft CRM server to the list of sites your pop-up blocker allows to open a new window: <server name> CAUSEThis problem occurs because of the way that protected mode works. When you open a record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the window.open function is used. When one Outlook process tries to open a window in Internet Explorer and the URL is loaded in a zone that has protected mode enabled, "null" is returned as the return value for opening the window. In the code, "null" indicates that a pop-up window was blocked. In Internet Explorer 7, "null" may also indicate that protected mode is enabled. This is a security feature when Windows Vista works together with Internet Explorer 7 or together with Internet Explorer 8. WORKAROUNDMethod 1Double-click a record in Outlook. To do this, follow these steps:
