FIX: A policy is evaluated against an incorrect target when you run the policy category in evaluation mode on a remote server that is running SQL Server 2008Article ID: 970713 - View products that this article applies to. Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 fix release. SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft SQL Server 2008, you run a policy category in evaluation mode on a remote server. However, the policy is evaluated against an incorrect target, and you receive an incorrect result for the policy. CAUSEThis issue occurs because the local store is used instead of the remote store to obtain the category data and the subscription data for the policy. RESOLUTIONThe fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 6.
