SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 30, 2009.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When a Collaboration Data Objects (CDO)-based application calls the IMAPIProp::GetProps method and passes the NULL for lpPropTagArray parameter against a message which has the PidTagStoreUnicodeMask property set, the error message 0x80004005 (MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED) is returned. This can affect other Microsoft APIs such as the Count property on the Fields collection in CDO 1.21.
  • In Outlook 2007, you open an e-mail message in a folder (for example, the Inbox folder), and then use the Previous Item or the Next Item command in the opened message window to view the previous or the next message. You switch to another folder (for example, the Calendar folder) and then switch back to the original folder. In this case, in the message window, when you use the Previous Item or the Next Item command again to view the previous or the next message, the first message in the Inbox folder is displayed unexpectedly.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Outlook 2003, the meeting organizer adds a new attendee into an instance of a recurring meeting series and then sends the update to all the attendees.
    • The newly-added attendee forwards the request of that meeting instance to another user.
    • That user accepts the meeting request.
    • The organizer receives the meeting acceptance.
In this scenario, in the organizer's Calendar, that user is added to every instance of the recurring meeting series unexpectedly.
  • In an English version of Outlook 2007, you create a meeting request which has Thai characters in the subject and location fields, and then send the meeting request. In this case, when you open the sent meeting request from the Sent Items folder or the attendees open the meeting request in the English version of Outlook, the Thai characters in the subject and the location fields are displayed in very small fonts unexpectedly.

Note To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:
    • Apply the hotfix that is described in KB 957909, and then set the locale to Thai. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
      957909 Description of the Outlook 2007 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package: September 24, 2008
    • Apply the hotfix that is discussed in this article and then add Thai as one of the enabled editing languages in Microsoft Office Language Settings 2007.
  • After the protection for a Digital Rights Management (DRM)-configured e-mail message is removed, the icon for the message still shows that the message is protected. This problem occurs when Outlook 2007 is running in Cached Exchange mode.
  • You attach an unsigned plain text e-mail message that was saved to the Drafts folder to a new e-mail message. You sign the message digitally and then send the message. In this case, when you check the message in the Sent Items folder or the recipients check the message in their Inbox folders, the attached plain text message is converted to an HTML message unexpectedly.
  • This hotfix provides an improvement to Outlook 2007 if performance is slow after you install 2007 Office Service Pack 2 (SP2).
  • In Outlook 2007, when you add a calendar public folder into a group schedule as the first entry, the calendar public folder is added temporarily. However, after you click Save and Close in the group schedule window, the calendar public folder is removed from the group schedule unexpectedly.
  • You select a day in the Calendar of the To-Do bar, and then you switch the current view for the Calendar from Day/Week/Month to Events. When you switch repeatedly between other folders and Calendar, and change the current view of Calendar, Outlook 2007 crashes.
  • In your mailbox, a folder contains thousands of subfolders, such as the Inbox folder or the Calendar folder. After you install the February cumulative update, when you try to check the size of the folder, you receive an error in the Folder Size dialog box. After that, when you try to open the folder or some subfolder, you receive the following error message:
Cannot display the folder. Your server administrator has limited the number of items you can open simultaneously. Try closing messages you have opened or removing attachments and images from unsent messages you are composing
  • You start Outlook 2007 in Cached Exchange Mode and with the reading pane active. If an e-mail message that contains a custom form that has code is displayed in the reading pane, CPU usage increases or Outlook even crashes. This problem occurs after you install Office SP2.
  • When you are running Outlook 2007 on a Windows Vista-based computer that uses high DPI (for example, 120 DPI), icons for custom forms will not be displayed.
  • Consider the following scenario. You have a custom application that can be run to create new categories in Outlook 2007.

You run the application to create a new category in Outlook 2007. Then, if you restart Outlook 2007, the category that you created is removed unexpectedly. This problem occurs after you install the Februarycumulative update or SP2.
  • On a computer that is running Windows 7 RC, the Delete and Sync operations perform slowly in Outlook 2007 after you install SP2.
  • In Outlook 2007, when you view a group schedule in Calendar, the text in the group schedule is blurry. In this case, visually-impaired users cannot read the text in the group schedule.
  • 965229 A hotfix enables you to set the download mode for IMAP accounts in Outlook 2007 and to configure the setting to sync the mailbox when you exit Outlook 2007
  • 970777 Additional log files are generated on the Exchange server unexpectedly when you send an e-mail message to recipients who have a corrupted e-mail address or a corrupted e-mail address type by using Cached Exchange mode in Outlook 2007
  • 972148 When you send an e-mail message from a shared mailbox in Outlook 2007, the sent message is not saved in the Sent Items folder of the shared mailbox
  • 971937 If a delegate sends a meeting request on behalf of the manager by using Outlook 2000, the organizer of the meeting is changed to the delegate unexpectedly after an attendee accepts the meeting by using Outlook 2007
  • 971367 The BeforeFolderMove event is not called by a custom application after a while in Outlook 2007
  • 972362 When you print a daily calendar in Outlook 2007, start and end times are not included before the subject of appointments
