SYMPTOMSWhen you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, you may
receive the following error message if a domain controller is not
available: An error occurred with error code '3221685941'
and message 'The interface is unknown.' CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Exchange Server 2010 setup
process cannot contact a domain controller. This problem
occurs because the domain controller does not respond to a NETLOGON call from the
Exchange server. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, make sure that the domain
controller is online and available, and then run the Exchange Server 2010 setup
again. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section. | Other Resources Other Support Sites
