本文說明 Windows XP、Windows Server 2003、Windows Vista 和 Windows Server 2008 中變更自動執行功能的更新，同時包含「Microsoft 下載中心」更新之連結。
安裝此更新之後，即使您將「Shell 硬體偵測」服務設定為
停用 ，可能還是會收到自動播放硬體事件的通知。發生此問題是因為您安裝此更新後，服務啟動類型變更為
自動 。如果要解決此問題，請重新將「Shell 硬體偵測」服務設定為
停用 。
在 Windows XP、Windows Vista 和 Windows Server 2003 中，自動執行項目會填入所有具有大型儲存空間的裝置，且根目錄中會有一個有效的格式化 AutoRun.inf 檔案。這包括 CD、DVD、USB 拇指碟、外接式硬碟，以及任何做為大型儲存裝置使用的儲存體。此更新會停用自動播放中的自動執行項目，並只顯示從 CD 與 DVD 光碟機填入的項目。這可有效防止自動播放功能與 USB 媒體搭配使用。
對使用者及使用者軟體的影響 多項現有市售裝置，以及許多即將上市的裝置，都使用含有 [自動播放] 對話方塊的自動執行功能，以在插入 DVD、CD 與 USB 快閃磁碟機時，顯示並安裝軟體。 安裝此更新的使用者將不會再收到提示他們安裝由 USB 快閃磁碟機所提供之程式的安裝訊息。使用者將必須手動安裝軟體。如果要執行這項操作，使用者可以按一下 [開啟資料夾] 以檢視檔案、瀏覽至軟體的安裝程式，然後按兩下安裝程式以手動執行程式。 某些 USB 快閃磁碟機內含韌體，會在您將這些 USB 快閃磁碟機插入電腦時將其顯示為 CD 光碟機。這些 USB 快閃磁碟機不受此更新影響。 對 Windows 功能的影響 自動播放的此項變更將會影響 Windows 中的「立即無線連線」(複製網路設定精靈) 功能。此功能可讓使用者將其網路設定複製到 USB 快閃磁碟機，然後將網路設定移至另一部電腦。

如何判斷所執行的是 32 位元或 64 位元版本的 Windows 如果您不確定目前所執行的 Windows 版本為何，或為 32 位元版或 64 位元版，請開啟 [系統資訊] (Msinfo32.exe)，並檢視所列示

此軟體更新的英文 (美國) 版會安裝具有下表中所列屬性的檔案。這些檔案的日期和時間是以 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) 表示。本機電腦上這些檔案的日期和時間，是以您當地的時間和目前的日光節約時間 (DST) 的時差來顯示。此外，當您對檔案執行特定作業時，其日期和時間可能會改變。
