SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services, a subreport is shared two or more times for use in an outer subreport.

For example, you create MainReport, SubReport1, and SubReport2 reports. MainReport references SubReport1 two times as a subreport. SubReport1 references SubReport2 as a subreport. In this scenario, when you run the report in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS), you may receive the following error message:

[rsErrorExecutingSubreport] An error occurred while executing the subreport 'ReportName' (Instance: 0): An item with the same key has already been added.
