FIX: Error message when you create a SharePoint subscription on a SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services report that uses cascading parameters: "This report requires a default or user-defined value for the report parameter '<Parameter>'"

In Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services, you configure a report server to run in SharePoint integrated mode. You use cascading parameters in a report. When you try to create a SharePoint subscription on the report, you receive the following error message:

Important The update for this problem is not included in cumulative update 5 for SQL Server 2008 or in cumulative update 3 for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1). To resolve this problem, you must install the updated Reporting Services SharePoint Add-in hotfix after you install the cumulative update package.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
