SYMPTOMS

On System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based systems, the following products are not listed as supported platforms for software distribution, for software update management, or for desired configuration management:
  • Windows Vista SP2
  • Windows Server 2008 SP2

CAUSE

This problem occurs because these platforms were not included in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 as supported platforms for software distribution, for software update deployment, or for desired configuration management.

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, available from this Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3318741a-c038-4ab1-852a-e9c13f8a8140

To work around this problem, click to select the This program can run on any platform check box for software distribution program configurations. Then, click to select the All Windows Platforms check box for configuration items.
