CAUSEThe GIF codec in GDI+ 1.0 encodes GDI+ images that have 256 or fewer colors (8 bits per pixel). The GIF codec uses exception error information to decode GIF images. Therefore, you may experience access violations when you use a runtime verification tool to monitor a GDI+ program that uses the GIF codec. RESOLUTIONNote Guard Page exception errors may still be reported after you apply this hotfix. To work around the issue, disable Guard Page exception catching in the debugger or in the runtime verification tool. Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
