Outlook crashes when you enable the "Track in CRM" feature for a delegate contact after you install Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
  • You set the DelegateMailboxEnabled registry entry to 1 and then configure Microsoft Office Outlook to open a delegate mailbox in non-Cached Exchange Mode.
  • After that, you create a new contact in the delegate contacts folder, and then you click Track in CRM and Save and Close.
In this scenario, Outlook crashes.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of an infinite loop of MAPI notifications.

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
