WORKAROUND

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. On the Office Communications Server 2007 front-end server:
    1. Open the Communications Server 2007 Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in.
    2. In the console tree, expand the forest node, and then perform one of the following actions:
      • For an Enterprise pool, expand Enterprise pools, right-click the pool, point to Application Properties, and then click Intelligent IM Filter.
      • For a Standard Edition server, expand Standard Edition servers, right-click the pool, point to Application Properties, and then click Intelligent IM Filter.
    3. On the URL Filter tab, clear the check box next to Enable URL filtering.
  2. On the Office Communicator 2007 client computer of the sender, set the following DWORD registry value to 1:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\EnableURL
  3. On the Office Communications Server 2007 server that is running Forefront Security for Office Communications Server, set the following DWORD registry values to 1:
    1. Open Regedit
    2. Locate
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Forefront Server Security\Office Communications Server
Note This location is for 64-bit systems only. If you are running a 32-bit system, the location would be
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Forefront Server Security\Office Communications Server
    3. In the registry key that is listed here, change the data for the AllowInvalidContent DWORD value from 0 to 1. If you cannot find the AllowInvalidContent DWORD value, then create a new DWORD value that has the name AllowInvalidContent, and then set the data to 1.
