SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario on a Windows Server 2008-based computer:
  • You create a remote application and then publish the remote application by using an MSI package.
  • You use an associate file name extension. And, you sign off by importing a signing certificate to a test client.
  • On the test client, you create a file that has uppercase letters in the file name extension, and then you open the file.
In this scenario, the file cannot be opened. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The RDP file has settings that cannot be overridden by command line. The remote connection cannot be started.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, rename the file so that it has lowercase letters in the file name extension.
