A
hotfix is now available that provides an updated Tape.inf file for
Windows Server 2003, for
Windows Server 2008,
and for
Windows Vista. This updated Tape.inf file
adds native support for the
IBM linear
tape
open 5 (LTO-5) tape drives.
Linear Tape Open (LTO) technology was developed jointly by
HP, IBM, and Quantum to provide a practical
choice of
tape storage options.
With a roadmap for scalability and for
growth, the
LTO technology is an
open tape format that was created to handle
the data
protection requirements
in medium-sized
server environments to enterprise-class server
environments.
For more information about LTO, visit the following Hewlett-Packard,
IBM, and Quantum Web site:
A

request the hotfix package that applies to both Windows Vista and Windows
Server 2008, just select the product that is listed on the page.
