Enterprise administrators cannot both set and enforce the Personal Information Manager settings for Outlook Integration to be able to turn off Outlook Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2

Enterprise administrators cannot both set and enforce the Personal Information Manager (PIM) settings for Microsoft Outlook Integration to be able to turn off Outlook Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2. Therefore, the end-user cannot manually turn Outlook Integration for Office Communicator 2007 R2 back on.

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:

After you install this update, administrators can enforce a setting that stops end-users from resetting or changing Outlook Integration for Office Communicator 2007 R2. To do this, you must deploy the PersonalContactStoreOverride policy. To deploy the PersonalContactStoreOverride policy, use the Local Group Policy Editor.

• If the PersonalContactStoreOverrirde policy is set, then this value is always used and the user interface (UI) is disabled.
  • If the value of the PersonalContactStoreOverride policy is set to default in the Group Policy settings for Outlook, PersonalContactStoreOverride=0 appears in the registry and in PIM integration in Outlook.
  • If the value of the PersonalContactStoreOverride policy is set in the Group Policy settings for the Windows Address Book, PersonalContactStoreOverride=1 appears in the registry and in PIM integration in the Windows Address Book.
  • If the value of the PersonalContactStoreOverride policy is set to None in the Local Group Policy Editor, PersonalContactStoreOverride=2 appears in the registry and PIM integration is set to NONE.
• If the PersonalContactStoreOverrirde policy is missing and a roaming value exists, the roaming value is used and the UI is enabled.
• If the PersonalContactStoreOverrirde policy is missing and a roaming value is also missing, the default value is used and the UI is enabled.
