SYMPTOMS

A distribution group expansion fails in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2, and then you receive the following error message:
Cannot save a local copy of your distribution groups. If this problem continues, contact your system administrator.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the local part of a distribution group’s e-mail address contains a "/" character (for example, someone/something@example.com).

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, click OK. Then, the distribution group expands successfully.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
