Consider the following scenario:
Issue 1 You cannot start the Windows Home Server Console from the home server or from the remote desktop. Issue 2 Clients cannot connect to the home server to access shared files. CAUSEWindows Home Server has a feature to allow you to recover your home server. A bug was discovered that related to how Windows Server Power Pack 2 manages the server recovery. After the server recovery, a check on the share folders fails and causes the issues that are described in the "Symptoms" section. RESOLUTIONTo prevent these issues, you must install this update on your home server before you try to recover Windows Home Server. Please check whether you have installed this update on your home server before you start to recover Windows Home Server. To check whether you have installed this update, follow these steps:
