SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 30, 2009.

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario. There is a MAPI profile which uses double-byte character set (DBCS) characters in its name. You can use this profile to log on to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) successfully for the first time. However, when you try to log on to Outlook 2007 SP2 for the second time, Outlook 2007 SP2 stops responding (hangs) with the error loading.

When you try to configure a new outlook profile, you receive the following error message:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the outlook window. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.

Prerequisites

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
