A Transport Layer Security (TLS) connection stops unexpectedly during the TLS negotiation stage in Communications Server 2007 R2

SYMPTOMS

You have a process that listens toa Transport Layer Security (TLS) connection by using a managed Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) stack in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2. However, the TLS connection stops unexpectedly during the TLS negotiation stage.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if third-party TLS implementations send empty TLS packets. In this case, the managed SIP stack process these empty packets incorrectly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
