No entry tone or exit tone is played to Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) users to indicate that someone from a Live Meeting console has joined or has left a Live Meeting conference in Office Communications Server 2007 R2

SYMPTOMS

A meeting organizer schedules a Live Meeting conference in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2. The organizer sends an e-mail invitation that contains "Dial-in Audio Conference" information. Therefore, other users can join the conference by using a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) device, such as a mobile phone.

During this Live Meeting conference, if another user clicks the "Join Meeting" link in the e-mail invitation to join the meeting by using the Live Meeting console, no entry tone is played to the PSTN users. Therefore, the PSTN users have no indication that someone from the Live Meeting console has joined the conference. However, the entry tone is played to the PSTN users when another PSTN user joins the conference. Additionally, this same issue occurs with the exit tone if a user who attends the conference by using the Live Meeting console leaves the meeting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:

After you apply this Hotfix package, the "entry or exit" tone will be played to PSTN users to indicate someone from the Live Meeting console has either join or has left the meeting.
