INTRODUCTION

This article discusses a Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 update package that improves the performance of Office Communicator 2007 R2 for USB peripherals.
The Office Communicator 2007 R2 for USB peripherals works only with the Office Communicator 2007 R2 update package that is dated July 2009 or with later versions. The update package that is dated July 2009 contains the protocol-level Human Interface Device (HID) changes that are required to give full functionality to the Office Communicator 2007 R2 Phone Edition. An updated version of the Office Communicator 2007 R2 partner specification for USB peripherals will document these changes and will be shared with certification partners.
