SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You insert a FAT-formatted removable flash into a Windows Embedded CE 6.0-based device.
  • An executable application inside the flash contains a buffer that is greater than the allocation unit size.
  • You perform one of the following actions while the application is running:
    • You unmount and then mount the flash.
    • The device is suddenly turned off, and then you turn on the same device.
    • You remove the flash suddenly, and then insert it again.
  • You start the application again.
In this scenario, the file system in the flash is corrupted and the whole directory is empty.

Note This problem does not occur when the flash is formatted by using the exFAT file system.
