SYMPTOMS

As a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 user, you submit a message by using an IMAP4 client together with the APPEND command. However, the message delivery time is stamped with the current date and time instead of the date and time that was passed to the APPEND command.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Exchange Server 2007 server sets the PR_IMAP_INTERNAL_DATE property to the time that is passed to the APPEND command. However, Microsoft Office Outlook clients and Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) use the PR_MESSAGE_DELIVERY_TIME property to show the messages.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
