Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Client prevents Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 from logging off

SYMPTOMS

You log on to Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Client. When you try to log off Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003, Group Chat Client logs off as expected. However, the logoff process for Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003 stops.

CAUSE

The logoff process in Group Chat Client is asynchronous because it must save any changed preferences to the server before it can log off. To do this, the client cancels the closing sequence of the main form. This behavior cancels the Windows logoff process if the closing of the main form was triggered by the Windows logoff process.

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
