SYMPTOMS

When you view a Web page in Windows Internet Explorer 8 on a computer that is running Windows Vista, the Web page is not displayed correctly.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Internet Explorer sends out a malformed request for an external JavaScript file.

Note In order to identify whether you are experiencing this issue, you can use an HTTP debugger tool to capture and then analyze the Internet Explorer trace. For example, you can use the Microsoft Fiddler HTTP debugger tool.

RESOLUTION

This hotfix is included in the cumulative hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 980182.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have Internet Explorer 8 installed on a computer that is running Windows Vista.
