Error message when an Exchange 2007 user clicks "Post" to submit a new post item for a moderated public folder in OWA: "The item that you attempted to access no longer exists

When a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 user clicks Post to submit a new post item for a moderated public folder in Outlook Web Access (OWA), the user receives the following error message:After the user receives this error message, the user may try to create the item again.

When a post item is submitted to the public folder store, the OWA client tries to reload the item from the public folder store to make sure that all properties were captured correctly. However, a rule is triggered to send the item to the moderator of the public folder. Therefore, the reload of the item fails on the OWA client because the item no longer exists in the public folder store.

To resolve this problem, install the following update rollup:


Note The hotfix applies an update that modifies some event handlers to prevent the OWA clients from reloading the item.
