Some symbol files (PDBs), such as atl80.pdb, atl71.pdb, or atl70.pdb, may not be updated after you install one of the following updates:
To work around this issue, you can download the symbol files from the Microsoft Symbol Server. To use the Microsoft Symbol Server, you have to use the appropriate syntax in your symbol path. Typically, the syntax path uses the following format:
SRV*your local symbol folder*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbolsNote your local symbol folder is any drive or share that is used as a symbol destination.
For example, to set the symbol path in the WinDbg debugger, type the following command in the Command Prompt window of the debugger:
