How to troubleshoot radio reception problems that may occur when you use the Zune FM Transmitter v4

When you use the Zune FM Transmitter v4 with your Zune player, you may experience one of the following symptoms:

• Weak or irregular radio reception
• Irregular Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) text that is displayed for song information

Note The Zune FM Transmitter is part of the Zune Premium Car Pack v4.

This issue may occur because of several environmental factors. Factors that can affect the radio reception quality include the following:

• The location of the antenna on the vehicle in which you use the Zune FM Transmitter v4.
• The broadcast strength of radio stations that are on neighboring frequencies.
• The closeness and broadcast strength of other FM transmitters or of similar music players.
• The kind of vehicle in which you use the Zune FM Transmitter.

To troubleshoot this issue, follow these steps:

• Try to use a different frequency. You may experience less interference by using a different frequency that is currently unused.

• Limit the sources of interference from the electrical system in the vehicle in which you use the Zune FM Transmitter v4. For example, charging a cellular telephone may interfere with the signal from the Zune FM Transmitter v4. Such interference can cause a hiss or a crackle in the audio.
