INTRODUCTION

This article discusses an update to Microsoft Office Word 2007. This update fixes a known issue with Office Word 2007 after you install June security update MS09-027. After installing MS09-027, Office Word 2007 documents containing a “DocVariable” field can lose formatting in the field when saved in the Open XML (.docx) file format. This problem also occurs when saving the document in XML or Word 2003 XML formats. However, this problem does not occur when you save the document in the DOC, HTML or RTF formats.
