SYMPTOMS

After you do a clean installation of Windows 7 or of Windows Server 2008 R2, the following warning Event ID is logged in the System log:

Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP
Date: Date and Time
Event ID: 219
Task Category: (212)
Level: Warning
User: SYSTEM
Computer: Computer Name
Description: The driver \Driver\tunnel failed to load for the device ROOT\*ISATAP\0000.

CAUSE

This event is logged because of the timing of components that are being loaded during the installation.

RESOLUTION

It is safe to ignore the message, and no action needs to be taken.
