SYMPTOMS

When two Linux applications use the flock() function to lock the same file on a network file system (NFS) share that is hosted on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 R2, one application does not receive the unlock notification. Therefore, the file can be locked by this application only when the flock() function retries the lock request for the file after a 30-second time-out.
