INTRODUCTION

This article describes a hotfix that lets you promote the GE01 segment as an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) context property in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009.

After you apply this hotfix, the GE01 and TsSequenceNumberInGroup properties are added as EDI context properties on the receiver's side.

Note"GE01" indicates the number of transaction sets that are included in a functional group.

After you apply this hotfix, the following properties are added as EDI context properties on the receiver's side:
  • The TsSequenceNumberInGroup property: the sequence number of the transaction set in a functional group
  • The GE01 property: the number of transaction sets that are included in a functional group
When BizTalk Server 2009 processes an incoming EDI message, the TsSequenceNumberInGroup property is written to the context for each transaction set if the inbound batch processing option for the message sender is set to Split Interchange as Transaction Sets– suspend Transaction Sets on Error or Split Interchange as Transaction Sets – suspend Interchange on Error. The GE01 property is written to the context for the last transaction set in a group. The value of the GE01 property is copied from the GE01 segment of the EDI message.
