Windows PE 2.1 does not support the IEEE 802.1X authentication protocol

Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) 2.1 does not support the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X authentication protocol. Therefore, you cannot authenticate a switch that is configured for IEEE 802.1X authenticated network access. However, after you apply this hotfix, Windows PE 2.1 supports the IEEE 802.1X authentication protocol.
