SYMPTOMS

If a workflow rule or a Software Development Kit (SDK) application changes the status of an order to "In Progress" in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the order unexpectedly becomes read-only. This problem occurs if you have installed Update Rollup 6 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 or Update Rollup 5 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the state of an order is changed to "Submitted" when a workflow rule or an SDK application changes the status of the order to "In Progress." Therefore, the order becomes read-only.

RESOLUTION

If you have installed Update Rollup 6, you must uninstall Update Rollup 6 before you install the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
