In Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2, HTML tabs stop working after you apply the October 2009 update that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 972884.
This problem occurs because the default value of the contactid element setting is incorrect.
To work around this problem, change the value of the contactid element setting that is defined in the XML definition file from false to true.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
The location of the XML file is defined in the TabUrl registry entry under the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicatorregistry subkey. The TabUrl registry entry type is REG_SZ.
The following example of an XML file displays the Response Group statistics and the default page of the pool server Web site in two separate tabs.
Note The value of the contactid element setting in the example is set to true.
In this example, the value of the TabUrl registry entry is https://eepool01.litewareinc.com/tabs.xml.
