You experience various problems in Office for Mac after you upgrade to Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6).
These problems can be caused by a corrupted Mac user account or by an incomplete or bad installation of the operating system.
To resolve this issue, you must create a new Mac user account. If the problem persists, we recommend that you reinstall Snow Leopard.
How to create a new user account
- On the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
- On the View menu, select Accounts.
- Click the "+" button in the lower-left corner to create a new user account.
- Edit the user information. You can give a user administrative privileges if you want.
- If you are prompted to disable automatic login, disable it.
Note If automatic login is enabled, the user that is automatically logged in at startup must log out manually (select Log Out from the Apple menu). Automatic login also allows any user to have access to the automatically logged-in user's documents and other home contents.
How to reinstall Mac OS X 10.6
- Insert the Mac OS X installation disc, and then double-click the Install Mac OS X icon.
- Follow the instructions. In the pane where you select a disk, select your current Mac OS X disc. (In most cases, this will be the only disc that is available.)
- If you want to control which parts of Mac OS X are installed, click Customize, and then select the parts that you want to install.
- To start the installation, click Install.
If the problem continues to occur, contact Apple for more help.
If you sync ICal and Entourage 2004, you may notice that events that are transferred from Entourage 2004 to ICal have the wrong times. This is a known issue between Snow Leopard and Entourage.
