FIX: Digest authentication fails on a Windows Server 2003 member server when authenticating against a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controller.

Consider the following scenario:

• You install a GDR for Channel Binding Token (also known as CBT) on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.

• The computer is joined to a domain whose domain controller (DC) is running Windows Server 2008 R2.

In this scenario, Digest authentication fails.

This problem occurs because of a macro that identifies the size of a hash for a nonce. The value of the macro for Windows Server 2008 R2 differs from the value of the macro for Windows Server 2003 and for Windows XP. This difference causes Digest authentication to fail.

Hotfix information
