SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, a delegate accepts a meeting cancellation on behalf of a manager in the delegate's own Inbox. The meeting is removed from the manager's calendar. However, if a second delegate then opens that meeting cancellation in his or her own Inbox, the canceled meeting is added back to the manager's calendar. In this scenario, the subject of the canceled meeting is displayed as "Canceled: subject" in the manager's calendar.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Install the following hotfix package:
977032 Description of the Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): December 15, 2009
  2. Enable the automatic processing of meeting messages for the delegates' accounts.

Note If the automatic processing of meeting messages is enabled, the AutomateProcessing parameter of the Set-MailboxCalendarSettings cmdlet is set to AutoUpdate. For more information about how to enable the automatic processing of meeting messages, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
