The location of a meeting or an appointment is not updated on an Exchange Server 2010 mailbox

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenarios.

Scenario 1

  • You have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 mailbox.
  • You create a meeting or an appointment request by using a Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) application.
  • You update the location of the meeting or the appointment request by using a CDO application.
In this scenario, the updated location is appended to the original location. You expect that the updated location replaces the original location.

Scenario 2

  • You have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 mailbox.
  • You create a meeting or an appointment request by using a Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) application.
  • You update the location of the meeting or the appointment request by using Microsoft Office Outlook.
In this scenario, the attendees see the updated location. However, you still see the original location.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the following update rollup:
