On This PageSYMPTOMSYou connect a USB composite device that supports consumer infrared (CIR) to a computer that is running Windows 7. However, the driver for this device is installed incorrectly. Therefore, the device does not work correctly. Additionally, a yellow exclamation mark is displayed next to the device when you view it in Device Manager.
For example, when you connect a smart card reader that supports CIR to the computer, the smart card reader does not work.
