SYMPTOMS

You search for a contact in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 or in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2. After you type the name of the contact in the Search box and press ENTER, a conversation window opens unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Office Communicator 2007 or Office Communicator 2007 R2 does not recognize the status of Input Method Editor (IME). When you input characters by using IME, these characters are used when you press ENTER. However, Office Communicator 2007 or Office Communicator 2007 R2 handles the action in the same manner as when you are not using IME.
