SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), you make a call in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 by using a wireless connection. However, the wireless connection is reported incorrectly in the Quality of Experience (QoE) report as a wired connection.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because neither Windows XP SP2 nor Windows XP SP3 supports the IF_TYPE_IEEE80211 wireless network interface type.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:

Note On a computer that is running Windows XP SP2, you have to install a wireless LAN API after you apply the update. For more information about how to do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
