SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS 2008), you have a report that uses the Hyperion Essbase provider to connect to an Oracle Hyperion Essbase cube database. The cube database contains shared members. When you use Query Builder to try to modify an existing query of the report, you receive the following error message:

The Query designer cannot load due to a problem with the selected cube <cube name>. Would you like to select a different one?

By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.
