Installation information

Install this update rollup on computers that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server components, or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook components. If you have not installed Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) 4.5, an Internet connection is required to install Update Rollup 10 on Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook because you must download MSI 4.5. You have to restart the computers that are running Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook after you install Update Rollup 10.

You must install the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Language Pack before you install Update Rollup 10 for Multilingual User Interface (MUI). To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Language Pack
  2. Select the appropriate language in the Change Language drop-down box.
  3. Click Change to download the language pack.
Note If you installed this language pack previously, you must unprovision the language pack, and then reprovision the language pack after you install Update Rollup 10 for MUI. When you unprovision the language pack, all Microsoft Dynamics CRM users using that language will have their language settings reverted back to the base language. The reprovision of the language pack does not update the users language settings. You must reset the language settings in the personal options.

After you install this update rollup, delete the temporary files in Windows Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Use one of the following methods for the version of Internet Explorer that you use:
    • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Deletein the Browsing history area, click Delete files in the Temporary Internet Files area, and then click Yes.
    • In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, click Delete files in the Temporary Internet Files area, and then click OK.
The installation location of some Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook files is changed from the roaming profile to the local profile.

To reduce the size of the roaming profile or if you experience long logon times, remove the remaining files. To do this, follow the steps in the following Knowledge Base (KB) article:

Special Considerations

64-bit versions of Office 2010 will not be supported in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

With Update Rollup 8 installed, Microsoft CRM E-mail Router Service supports Microsoft Exchange 2010. However, because of an issue with MAPI, the Rule Deployment Wizard does not support Microsoft Exchange 2010. This issue will be addressed in a future update of Microsoft Exchange 2010.
